Few people in the sports industry understand the cross-section of sports media and college sports better than Syracuse University Director of Athletics John Wildhack.
Many in the sports video production world will know John from his 30+ years as an executive at ESPN. Just prior to moving to Syracuse, he served as the network’s EVP of Programming and Production and, since coming to the Orange in 2016, he's made quite the impact. Most notably, he secured about $118 million dollars to bring important renovations to the Carrier Dome and to invest in the formation of an in-house production unit that will oversee all on-campus video boards, as well as support live event production for the upcoming ACC Network.
On the show today, John discusses how his past career experiences influence his current role as a college administrator, how he views establishing a culture of excellence in the workplace, and his expectations for the launch of the ACC Network.
