The SVG Podcast

Feb 2, 2018

Super Bowl Week in Minneapolis is heating up (not literally, unfortunately) as the big game is just days away. From Radio Row to U.S. Bank Stadium, SVG is on the scene covering all of the video production and tech happenings at Super Bowl LII.

Through Sunday, SVG will bring you daily episodes of The SVG Podcast as our Chief Editor Jason Dachman and Director of Digital Brandon Costa give you the inside scoop on everything they are seeing and the big themes they are hearing from all of the big video production players here in the Twin Cities.

In addition, each episode will feature an in-depth interview with a major exectuive or intriguing personality that dissects their team's on-site Super Bowl efforts and offers their opinions on larger trends facing the sports media industry.

In today's episode, Jason and Brandon discuss NBC Sports' spectacular game production, looking at the cameras used to shoot the game, a new generator system that's both powering and heating the U.S. Bank Stadium compound, and a augmented reality graphics element that just may dazzle viewers come Super Sunday.

Brandon also catches up with Eric Long, Director of Production for the Philadelphia Eagles to discuss what his team is working on this week, how digital platforms are changing the types of content his team creates, and what the experience of creating content for a sports franchise on a championship run is like.

The SVG Podcast is for the sports-video–production professional looking to keep up with the latest in sports-video–production operations and technology. The program features interviews with some of the biggest, most influential names in the sports-video business talking trends and topics that are making an impact on the industry.
