The SVG Podcast

Jan 3, 2018

This summer, Fox Sports will present the 2018 FIFA World Cup to American audiences. Its the first time the network has broadcast the men’s tournament. A lot has been made as to what will happen to Fox Sports’ coverage following the disappointing outcome late last year that saw the US Men’s National Team fail to qualify for the tournament. Would Fox pull back on some of its production efforts? How badly would it hit them in the advertising pocket book? In this interview, it certainly sounds like full steam ahead for Fox. We had the pleasure to be joined on stage at last month’s SVG Summit but two of the most important minds behind Fox Sports’ upcoming World Cup coverage: Kevin Callahan, VP, Field Operations and Engineering and David Neal, Executive Producer for Fox’s coverage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The two men were fresh off the World Broadcast Meetings in Russia us so there’s loads of fresh information here in regards to the network’s studio location in Red Square, the relationship with HBS, and much more. The SVG Podcast is for the sports-video–production professional looking to keep up with the latest in sports-video–production operations and technology. The program features interviews with some of the biggest, most influential names in the sports-video business talking trends and topics that are making an impact on the industry.
